First report

Eastview took every last punch from St. Michael-Albertville on Thursday. But when all was set and done, the Lightning came away with a key road victory and prevailed 56-48 at St. Michael-Albertville High School.

Eastview (4-1, 1-0) used its experienced back court to knock off the Knights, ranked No. 5 in Class 4A by Minnesota Basketball News. Senior guard Lauren Glas scored a team-high 16 points to lead the way for the No. 3-4A Lightning.

The Lighting had three different players in double figures. Senior guard Emma Carpenter tallied 10 points while junior forward Brynn Schwarz added 14 points.

St. Michael-Albertville (4-1) fell behind 9-0 early but cut into the Eastview lead thanks, in part, to junior guard Kenzie Kramer. She had a game-high 20 points, including five 3-pointers.

The No. 5-4A Knights added nine 3-pointers in the win. Eighth-grade guard Tessa Johnson had three from behind the arc while scoring 13 points. She was the only other St. Michael-Albertville player in double figures.
